Gonzaga University is a private university located in Spokane, Washington. It was founded in 1887, and enrolls around 5,400 students in various undergraduate and graduate programs. The university was named after the 16th century Italian Jesuit, Aloysius Gonzaga, who died in Rome trying to save young people in Prague, and was later named the patron saint of the youth.
