Anderson School of Management

In 1935, a school of management was established in the University of California-Los Angeles. This business school started out with only an undergraduate program. It was four years after it was founded that an MBA degree program became available. In 1987, the UCLA Graduate School of Management was renamed into the UCLA Anderson School of Management after a generous donation made by UCLA alumni John E. Anderson. The curriculum of the MBA programs in Anderson is comprised of leadership courses, core management courses, applied management research courses, and free elective courses. The teaching method involves lectures, team projects, class discussions and practical business experiences. At the moment, UCLA Anderson School of Management holds the number 10 rank in both the Financial Times and U.S. News and World Report. It is also just at the brink of Business Week's Top 10 graduate business schools in the world, ranking number 12 currently. Anderson School of Business is also home to a number of markedly innovative business-related research centers and programs. The Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, the Center for International Business Education and Research, the Richard S. Ziman Center for Real Estate, the Entertainment and Media Management Institute, and the Center for Management in the Information Economy are just some of them. Teachers and many students actively participate in the programs of these research centers along with expert entrepreneurs and with experienced business professionals. At the moment, the Anderson School of Management in UCLA offers full-time, part-time and executive MBA programs. Students will learn the basic principles of business management and also pick up some skills in practical business administration while enjoying an interactive and competitive learning environment.
