Florida International University (FIU) is a public research university located in Miami, Florida. The university's mission is to provide its students with high quality education through excellent instructions and research. The Florida International University College of Business Administration is the business school of FIU. The FIU College of Business Administration offers undergraduate and graduate studies for their students. Among the graduate studies offered is the Master of Business Administration. The MBA Degree Programs are offered in both full time and part time formats for the convenience of students. The International MBA is a program designed for those who are interested in pursuing a career in the globally-expanding world of business. The classroom environment is international as well, with two-thirds of the faculty coming from outside of the United States. The program offers a foreign language component which will enable graduates from this program to work overseas. If the student would prefer to take the “China track”, then they will take extra language classes in Chinese, and will spend a month in China, studying their language and culture. The International MBA can be completed in one year. The FIU College of Business Administration offers Part time programs as well. These programs are the Evening MBA, Professional MBA, and the Downtown MBA. The Evening MBA is the most flexible of all the part time programs since students can decide how many units they want to take in a quarter, and when they want to take it. The Evening MBA can be completed in 2 to 4 years, depending on the number of classes taken in a given period. The Professional MBA is a more accelerated part time MBA program. It only takes 20 months for students to complete the program, as they attend regular Saturday classes. The Downtown MBA is said to be custom-designed for Miami professionals. It is the perfect after-work program, since classes are held only two evenings per week and can be completed in 18 months. The Executive MBA program is designed for those who are holding managerial positions in a business organization and would like to further their business achievements. The 20-month program is structured to transform businessmen to leaders. Obviously, emphasis on the MBA programs is on leadership in business organizations. The specialty MBA at FIU College of Business is concentrated for Public Managers. The MBA for Public Managers is designed for public administrators. The program focuses on developing leaders for governmental and non-profit organizations. Participants can focus on either social welfare or international relations as electives upon completion of the core curriculum.
